When I open my Adobe App, it states that it can not find the fonts, even though the fonts are installed on the system.

If the document was created by another font user, it is most likely that this user was is using the same font family but in a different font file format (.eg .otf ) to the fonts that you have installed on your computer (.eg .ttf). Simply find and replace the 'missing fonts' with the file format that you have installed. All text within the document will flow in exactly the same way.
