Should I use Fontsmith web fonts or web safe fonts?

It is now possible to host web font files on your web server in the same way that you host an image, animation or even text on your web servers. The web font files are loaded and implemented on your website in the same way that an image is, you are able to use a unique and specific font which can provide continuity between both your print and web site design work. There is no reason to use ‘web safe’ fonts today. Your developer should of course specify a web safe font as a fall back in your sites CSS code but these font’s really shouldn’t be the starting point, it’s simply unnecessary when great web typography via CSS @font-face is the standard for web design today. All modern browsers support web fonts. It really is very simple to implement web fonts and this gives your brand more continuity and distinction.
